John Doran

John Doran is the co-founder/editor of The Quietus and author of the acclaimed memoir Jolly Lad, concerning his recovery from alcoholism, described by the Guardian as being "the most painfully perceptive book about addiction". He has written for the Guardian and NME and has made short films for Vice and Noisey. He wrote and presented The Cult Of Aphex Twin for BBC Radio 4 - which won Gold Medal for best documentary at the New York Festival Radio Awards 2019 - as well as the New Weird Britain series, and has presented programmes on 6 Music, Radio 3 and Radio 4. He has been writing and talking about weirdness in culture for 25 years.
